Moto X4 with dual-camera, launched at IFA 2017


Lenovo-owned Motorola on Friday introduced its latest smartphone, Moto X4, at IFA 2017. The smartphone is priced at EUR 399 (Rs 30,300 approximately) and will be initially available in Europe. The phone comes in two colors: Super Black and Sterling Blue.

The smartphone has been launched in Super Black and Sterling Blue colour options. The Moto X4 sports a metal unibody, a dual camera setup at the back within a protruding round-shaped ring protection, and the Motorola batwing logo right underneath it. At the front is the fingerprint scanner underneath the home button. The volume and the power keys both are situated on the right edge of the Moto X4. It sports on-screen navigation buttons, while the USB Type-C port and 3.5mm audio jack are both housed at the bottom edge of the smartphone.
Moto X4 sports a 5.2-inch full HD IPS display with Gorilla Glass protection. It runs on Android Nougat out-of-the-box and also comes pre-loaded with Amazon’s Alexa digital assistant. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s mid-range Snapdragon 630 processor, coupled with 3GB RAM and Adreno 508 GPU. It has 32GB built-in storage.
The X4 is the latest smartphone from Motorola stables to feature dual rear cameras. The company earlier this month had introduced the Moto G5S Plus featuring twin cameras on the back. The dual rear camera setup on the Moto X4 features a 12-megapixel sensor with 1.4um pixels, f/2.0 lens and dual pixel auto-focus. The secondary sensor has an 8-megapixel resolution with 120-degree ultra-wide angle f/2.2 lens. Camera features include face detection auto-focus, dual-tone LED flash and 4K video recording support.
For selfies, the Moto X4 comes with a 16-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 lens and LED flash. The front-facing camera also features a 4-megapixel low-light mode to deliver better images in dark conditions.
Connectivity options include LTE Cat.13, dual-SIM support, Bluetooth 5.0 and USB Type-C port. X4 is powered by a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging support. The smartphone also comes with a fingerprint sensor which is embedded into the home button.
Other important features of the smartphone include IP68 certification for water and dust resistance and dual-glass design.

As mentioned above, one of the biggest highlights of the Moto X4 is that it comes with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant support offering options for voice based search. It is also IP68 water and dust resistant, has a new three-finger screenshot gesture (along with other Moto experiences), and comes with an inbuilt password manager called Moto Key. The latest Bluetooth support brings the ability to allow it to sync with four speakers or headphones at one time. Lastly, but importantly, the Moto X4 doesn't offer Moto Mods support.

Apple  at its earnings call earlier this month revealed that the iPhone SE had a big hand in the double digit growth in iPhone sales in India this last quarter. Sharp announces phone with 120hz screen

Sharp has announced the Aquos R Compact, a smaller model in its Aquos R range of smartphones. Unlike the others in the series, the Aquos R Compact has a different, more of an edge-to-edge display design similar to the company's previous smartphones. The Aquos R Compact has a 4.9-inch, 2032x1080 resolution IGZO LCD. Apart from the fact that it goes right up to the edges on the top, has curved corners and notch in the center for the front camera, the display has 120Hz refresh rate that is twice as fast as almost every other smartphone display. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. It also has a 16.4 megapixel camera on the back and an 8 megapixel camera on the front. The software is Android 8.0 Oreo with EMOPA 7.0. Running the whole thing is a 2500mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0.
