WhatsApp Business has reportedly made it to India

The past few months have seen lot of buzz
about WhatsApp launching a separate app for businesses. Earlier this week, the Facebook-owned messaging app too confirmed that it will be verifying business accounts with a green tick badge showing next to its name. The verification means that the company has confirmed the phone number of the account to a business account.

  • The FAQ page also mentions that it will let users know when they can start chatting to the business account via a yellow message inside a chat.
  • It has also been mentioned that, "there is no way to delete these messages from the chat." WhatsApp says that if users already have a business's phone number saved in their address book, the name they see in the name the business has chosen for themselves. Users can also block the business if they don't want to contact them.
  • According to a news report by Factor Daily, WhatsApp has started testing its business feature in India with online ticket booking service BookMyShow. The report further adds that BookMyShow is now sending confirmations for tickets booked on its website to users on WhatsApp.
  • The report also claims that one of the user posted the screenshot of the confirmation message on Twitter. The WhatsApp message sent by BookMyShow reads, "We will use this chat to send your ticket confirmation. To stop receiving messages from us, please reply with 'Stop'."
